The key component of a freeze dryer, the vacuum pump, directly affects the freeze-drying effect in terms of its performance. Regular replacement of pump oil is crucial, improper operation may lead to vacuum pump failure. The following are the steps for correctly replacing vacuum pump oil:
1. Discharge waste oil: Use a 6mm hex wrench to unscrew the drain plug screw and allow the waste oil to flow out naturally.
2. Add new oil: Unscrew the oil inlet screw located at the front of the pump, use a suitable container or tool, and pour the new pump oil into the vacuum pump.
Tip: Before replacing dirty oil, you can preheat the vacuum pump to help the waste oil dissolve completely.
